Create and Manage Subdomain in cPanel

A subdomain is sort of a domain name that’s part of a larger domain name. In other words, a subdomain is an additional section of your main domain name. Within your main domain, you can have as many subdomains as necessary to get to all of the different pages of your website. Subdomains will help you to organize and navigate to different sections of your main website. While a subdomain is part of the main website, it’s considered a separate entity by search engines. People use subdomains to organize their website, without allowing certain parts of the site to be indexed by Google. Also, subdomains are extensions of your domain name that you can forward to URLs or point to IP addresses instead of purchasing additional domains. Rather than registering a new domain name, you can always create a subdomain using a domain you already own, for example, blog.example.com (assuming you already hold example.com). In this example, ‘blog’ is the subdomain and ‘example.com’ is the primary domain name and ‘.com’ is the top level domain(TLD). One of the most common uses of subdomains is to use them as a testing ground for when you’re updating or creating a new version of your website. You can install WordPress on your subdomain, and it will work as a completely separate installation from your main site. You can also test your updates and plugins on your subdomain to see how they perform before you publish them to your live site.  In this tutorial, we can learn the basic concepts of subdomains and how to create and manage subdomain in your cPanel account.
