cPanel/WHM showing Invalid license

In some circumstances, you may see a license-related error message (for example, License File Expired or Cannot Read License File or Invalid license ) on your cPanel & WHM server. There are multiple causes when you face such errors as:

1) cPanel license expiration

2) Change in the main IP of the server

3) License not updated

The first thing you need to check is if the cPanel license is actually valid. This can be easily checked with the cPanel license validator page. For this please access the link >>>  https://verify.cpanel.net/app/verify

cPanel/WHM showing Invalid license

Paste your IP in the field and click “Verify License” and make sure your license is Active. If the license is active, the result should be like the following:

cPanel/WHM showing Invalid license

If the license is active, login to your server via SSH as the root user using the following command:

$ ssh root@ipaddress

Note: Please replace the ipaddress with your server IP address.

Run the following command to update the active license:

$ /usr/local/cpanel/cpkeyclt

The output should be like the following:

cPanel/WHM showing Invalid license

After executing the above command, it will show you that the license status has been updated. Now you should be able to login to WHM and navigate through it.

If the IP is not licensed or the above command does not work, please contact support with your server IP address and root password.
