How to I upgrade my server’s kernel?
1onlyhost offers free kernel upgrades on our dedicated servers. To upgrade please contact support@1onlyhost.net, or fill out a new ticket over our secure server, with your server name, ip address and root password. In order for an upgrade to be complete a server reboot must be done. If you do not wish to have your server rebooted by us after the upgrade please state so in the ticket.
We never advise to doing your own kernel upgrades unless you are familiar with the process. If done incorrectly your server can be rendered unbootable.
Our kernels are compiled with grsecurity, a security project at grsecurity.net sponsored by 1onlyhost. This added protection is available at no additional charge. Please state in the ticket if you do not wish to have grsecurity.
